A Talkative Judge

August 25, 2006 / by steeve

The judges that a lawyer sees
Sometimes effect retainer fees,
By taking too long on their docket,
It costs more from the client's pocket.

The judge that talks too much will find
He's always running overtime,
He thinks his words are all bejeweled,
Too often, though, he's overruled.
There always is a higher court
Which has the words of last resort.

They say a judge who talks too much
Depends on words to act as crutch
For lack of knowledge or ability,
"But he can talk with such facility!"

[THUMBUP]More great thougths from the "bench."[THUMBUP] You amaze me at how easily you come up with rhyming words.... it doesn't seem to work that way for me.[WINK][SMILE]

Thanks. Unlike many poem writers, I feel that rhyme and controlled meter are essential and I rarely depart from those requirements.
